Front-line therapists:
The therapists at Little Star are the heart and soul of each child's program. The therapists come from many different disciplines including speech therapy, psychology, special education, occupational therapy, education, social work, early intervention and child development. Each therapist at Little Star is trained in ABA and verbal behavior and continually works on increasing her skill level. Many of our therapists are seeking board certification which requires additional coursework on top of their bachelor degree as well as supervision and a rigorous exam.
Little Star has an extremely low turn-over rate and many of the therapists have been at the center for two+ years.
Families may bring in their own therapy staff or Little Star will assist them in finding the perfect fit for their child and family. Since parental input is such an important part of the culture at Little Star, parents have the opportunity to meet with potential therapists and choose the one or ones that will be working with their child.
Senior therapists:
The senior therapists at Little Star are available to assist the front-line therapists in implementing the child's day to day program. Senior therapists have more extensive experience and training and offer an additional layer of supervision to your child's program. Our senior therapists hold master's degrees and/or have or are seeking board certification.
Consultants:
Little Star uses the services of a behavioral consultant who specializes in verbal behavior. For families that prefer to use another ABA method, such as Lovaas, these consultants are welcomed into our facility as well.
Due to the various insurance companies used by the families at Little Star, we do not employ speech therapists, physical therapists or occupational therapists. However, these professionals are welcome to visit your child at Little Star and perform the therapy at the center.
